In 1994, Ricardo had given up on his dream to become a filmmaker. At twenty-four, he had in a way already come to accept his destiny as a simple, anonymous citizen lost in the immensity of a consumer society.

However, a call from Radio-Canada advising that he was selected as a finalist for the program La Course edition 1994-95 rekindled the young man’s artistic flame.

Ricardo was finally chosen. His life changed completely.

Commissioned by the public broadcaster to produce some twenty short films around the world, we meet up with Ricardo as he lands in Egypt, halfway through the televised “race.” Experiencing one problem after another to produce a four-minute film about excision, Ricardo will question many things, including his own nature. Is he or is he not a true artist?

Romain Gary, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the actress Jean Seberg, takes in a stray dog. The dog quickly finds his place in the house, with Diego, the couple’s only son. He is affectionate with everyone. Everyone, except Black people. This is because White Dog is a dog specially trained to chase away Black protesters.

Montreal, winter 2002. Stéphane, a 19-year-old metal fan and graphic design student, dreams of becoming an illustrator. Indebted, without an apartment, avoiding his friends to whom he owes money, Stéphane takes a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant to get by. He discovers the hectic life of a restaurant as the holidays approach and its gallery of characters.
