In 1994, Ricardo had given up on his dream to become a filmmaker. At twenty-four, he had in a way already come to accept his destiny as a simple, anonymous citizen lost in the immensity of a consumer society.

However, a call from Radio-Canada advising that he was selected as a finalist for the program La Course edition 1994-95 rekindled the young man’s artistic flame.

Ricardo was finally chosen. His life changed completely.

Commissioned by the public broadcaster to produce some twenty short films around the world, we meet up with Ricardo as he lands in Egypt, halfway through the televised “race.” Experiencing one problem after another to produce a four-minute film about excision, Ricardo will question many things, including his own nature. Is he or is he not a true artist?

La Robe is two stylists competing to find a candidate’s dress. Beyond a personalized styling experience, the candidates will choose a dress that symbolizes a turning point, an important step in their life.

Whether it’s for a prom, a wedding, or a man who wants to assume his desire to wear a dress, our two stylists have the challenge of finding THE dress that will allow our candidates to shine. Members of their entourage attend the fittings to help them make the final choice. A friend who is a little too honest, a husband who is moved to tears, the comments and reactions of their companions inevitably influence the decision of our participants. But beware, our stylists also play elbow to elbow to convince that their proposal is the dress they need!

At the end of the runway, the candidates leave with a dress, but also with the necessary confidence to shine when they wear it.

Le Restaurant

Hosted by Hélène Bourgeois Leclerc and Vincent Dion Lavallée, Le Restaurant is a unique competition where 12 future restaurateurs compete to make their dream come true: to open their own restaurant. In the end, only one candidate will walk away with the grand prize of $50,000. The candidates, with different entrepreneurial strengths, will test the restaurant concept they dream of making a reality. The heart of this new culinary competition is to test the candidates’ project in a very concrete way in a real restaurant with real customers. Each week, the restaurant owner who has not convinced either the chef or the clientele will have to hand in his apron and leave the Restaurant.

In Gabby’s Farm, we explore daily life on a working farm – from the perspective of a five-year-old! This preschool series will take its young viewers into the world of agriculture, encouraging 3-5-year-olds to be curious about nature, food, animal care, and more. Each episode has its own standalone theme that falls within one of these four categories: farm animals, equipment, chores, and how the changing seasons affect farm life. Gabby’s adventures will transport young viewers to a rural backdrop that explores agricultural lifestyles up-close. Our pint-sized guide will also introduce us to her family, friends, and neighbours. She’ll even take us to other nearby farms, so we’ll get to learn even more about the community surrounding her. From milking cows, to learning how corn is planted and beyond, Gabby is excited to share her love of farming with our viewers! She also loves to count, and each episode will revolve around a different number.
